Fawlty Towers

Roll back time to December 1974 and the first episode of TV’s Fawlty Towers was about to delight the nation. Before long it has become a comedy classic with the beloved John Cleese of Monty Python fame and his then-wife Connie Booth at the helm. Now this brilliant comedy, the ultimate in true British silliness, has been adapted for the West End by John Cleese, who originally played Basil Fawlty. It’s on stage at theApollo Theatre from 15th May to 28th September 2024.

The show stars Adam Jackson-Smith as Basil himself, Anna-Jane Casey as Sybil, Hemi Yeroham as Manuel, Victoria Fox as Polly, and Paul Nicholas as the Major, in a total cast of eighteen. It combines three of the funniest episodes: series one’s ‘The Hotel Inspectors’ and ‘The Germans’, plus series two’s ‘Communication Problems’, into one story with an ending that brings them all together. Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, who brought us Monty Python Live at the O2 and Only Fools and Horses: The Musical, it’s billed as a laugh a minute.
